Webdesk, TNI Balurghat, 13th July, 2017: All the roads of Balurghat Municipal area went under water after the day before yesterday’s full shower. The residents were seen to be having huge problems while going through the muddy and waste waters on the roads. The master plan drain was constructed with spending crores of money but seems like gone to drain. The areas mainly observed that went under water are Balurghat High School ground, Suresh Ranjan Park, College area, Khidirpur, Khadimpur, Chawk Bhawani and others. Residents are blaming both the previous Left front ruled Municipal Board and the present Trinamool-run board for the unsolved problem. On the other hand, some officials from the Municipality are blaming the clogging of the drains due to plastic pollution in the town. The chairman of Balurghat Municipality Mr. Rajen Sil told TNI that the workers are trying to remove the clogged condition of the high drains and soon the situation will improve.
